๐Ÿค Experience perfectly grilled shrimp with a golden crispy exterior and tender juicy inside that will elevate your barbecue game
๐Ÿ‹ Transform ordinary shrimp into restaurant-quality seafood with a bright, zesty lemon butter sauce that brings out the natural sweetness

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 3 teaspoons very finely chopped garlic

– 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice, plus more to taste

– 1 pound large raw, peeled, and deveined shrimp or prawns

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (plain or sweet also acceptable)

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice (omit if cooking on stove)

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon pepper

– Grilled lemon halves, lemon wedges or slices

– 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley

Instructions

1-Diving into this recipe feels like a breeze once you follow these simple steps, and you’ll have tasty prawns ready in no time. Start by brushing your BBQ grill with oil and preheating it on high until it’s really hot this helps get that crispy finish we all love. If your shrimp are on the smaller side, thread them on two skewers per row to keep them from slipping through the grates.

2-First, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, then add the garlic and salt, stirring until the garlic turns lightly golden. Quickly pull it off the heat and mix in the lemon juice for that zesty kick. Next, pat the shrimp dry to ensure they get nice and crispy, then toss them in a bowl with garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, lemon juice (if you’re grilling), olive oil, salt, and pepper do this just before cooking to keep them juicy.

3-Clean and prepare the prawns by removing shells while leaving tails for a nice look.

4-Mix up the marinade with olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

5-Coat the prawns evenly in the marinade and let them sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the flavors.

6-Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400ยฐF.

7-Place the prawns on the grill and cook for 2 minutes per side until they turn golden and crusty.

8-For any swaps, like using mushrooms for a vegan twist, adjust the cooking time as needed.

9-Once done, drizzle with the lemon garlic butter sauce, sprinkle on some parsley, and serve right away with lemon and crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.

Notes

๐Ÿง„ Finely chop garlic instead of mincing to prevent burning – this ensures a smooth, golden sauce without bitter bits
๐Ÿฆ Use large or jumbo shrimp to prevent them from falling through the grill grates and for better texture
โฐ Season shrimp just before cooking (within 10 minutes) to prevent moisture loss and maintain crispy texture
