Ingredients

– 1/4 cup (30 g) flour

– 2 cups (480 ml) milk (preferably whole or 2%)

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

– One 8-count tube refrigerated biscuits

– 6 large eggs

– 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream (or whole milk as a substitute)

– 2 cups (about 220 g) shredded Colby Jack or cheddar cheese

Instructions

1-First: brown the 1 lb of ground pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat, adding 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes for a bit of spice. Once cooked, set aside a portion for later.

2-Next: make the white gravy by melting 1/4 cup of butter, stirring in 1/4 cup of flour, and then whisking in 2 cups of milk along with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper until it thickens.

3: Stir some of the cooked sausage into the gravy for extra flavor.

4: Cut the refrigerated biscuits into quarters and layer them in a greased casserole dish.

5: Top with the remaining sausage and 1 cup of shredded cheese, then pour a mixture of 6 large eggs beaten with 1/4 cup heavy cream over it all.

6-Finally: add the gravy and the rest of the cheese on top before baking at 350Β°F for 30 to 35 minutes until it’s puffed, set, and lightly browned.
