πŸ§„ This recipe offers an indulgent dining experience that’s simple to prepare and sure to impress at any meal.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 rib eye or New York Strip steaks, 1 inch thick

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons butter

2 garlic cloves, smashed

Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

1/4 cup bourbon

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon butter

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1-Start by getting your ingredients ready, which includes patting the steaks dry with paper towels and seasoning them generously with salt and pepper. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons olive oil to get it hot. Once it’s sizzling, sear the steaks for 3 to 4 minutes per side until they reach your preferred doneness, like medium rare.

2-In the last minute of cooking, drop in 2 tablespoons butter, 2 smashed garlic cloves, and fresh thyme or rosemary if you have it, then spoon that melted butter over the steaks for extra taste. Take the steaks out and let them rest on a plate covered loosely with tin foil. This rest time helps keep the juices inside.

3-Now for the Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce: Turn the heat down to medium in the same skillet and add 1 tablespoon butter with 3 minced garlic cloves. SautΓ© them for 1 to 2 minutes until they smell great. Pour in 1/4 cup bourbon carefully and let it simmer for 1 to 2 minutes to cook off the alcohol.

4-Next, stir in 1 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. Let this mix simmer and thicken for about 3 to 4 minutes, then add 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and mix well. Finally, pour the sauce over your rested steaks, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot with your favorite sides. The whole process is ready in just 30 minutes and serves 2 people.
