🍕 Bubble Up Biscuit Pizza Casserole combines easy-to-use ingredients for a fun and delicious pizza-inspired meal.
🧀 This recipe is perfect for quick weeknight dinners or casual gatherings, offering customizable toppings and a gooey, cheesy finish.

  • Total Time: 35 to 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

– 2 cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

– 1 jar (approximately 425 grams or 15 ounces) pizza sauce

– 2 cups (about 200 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese

– Pizza toppings of choice such as pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, onions, and fresh herbs

– Plant-based biscuits

– Vegan cheese

– Meat-free toppings

– GF biscuits

– GF sauce

– Reduced-fat cheese

– More veggies

Instructions

1-Preheat and Prep: Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Glass or ceramic works best for even cooking over metal.

2-Cut Biscuits: Open 2 cans of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits. Cut into quarters or bite-sized pieces. Smaller chunks help the center cook fully.

3-Arrange Base: Spread pieces evenly in a single layer in the dish. Stack a bit near edges if needed.

4-Add Sauce: Spoon or spatula the 15 ounces pizza sauce evenly over biscuits.

5-Layer Cheese: Sprinkle 2 cups shredded mozzarella over sauce.

6-Top It Off: Add pizza toppings like pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, onions, basil, or spinach. Tuck greens under cheese to avoid burning.

7-Bake: Uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. Check center for doneness dough fully cooked, cheese browned.

8-Rest and Serve: Cool 5 minutes. Slice and enjoy warm.

Notes

🍽️ For a smaller portion or saucier result, use one can of biscuits instead of two.
⏲️ If biscuits do not cook fully in the center, cut dough into smaller pieces or pre-bake dough for 5 to 10 minutes before adding sauce and toppings.
❄️ Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in an air fryer for best texture.
