🐟 Tuna Noodle Casserole is a classic comfort meal blending creamy soups, tender tuna, and cheesy noodles for a satisfying dish.
πŸ§€ This hearty casserole features a crispy, cheesy breadcrumb topping, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

– 12 ounces elbow noodles, cooked al dente

– 10 ounces canned tuna in water, drained

– 10.5-ounce can cream of chicken soup

– 10.5-ounce can cream of mushroom soup

– 1 cup milk

– 16 ounces cheese, shredded or cut into cubes

– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon pepper

– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

– 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs

Instructions

1-Getting Started: First things first, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. While the oven is warming up, you can start boiling the noodles according to package directions. Remember to cook them al dente, as they’ll continue cooking in the oven later. Once done, drain the noodles and rinse with cold water, then set them aside.

2-Creating the Creamy Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the casserole ingredients except the noodles this includes the canned tuna, both cans of soup, milk, cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until it’s well mixed. The mixture should be thick and creamy at this point.

3-Bringing It All Together: Now carefully fold in the cooked noodles, making sure they’re evenly coated with the creamy mixture. Once combined, pour everything into a large casserole dish. Cover the dish and place it in the preheated oven.

4-Baking to Perfection: This is where the magic happens! Bake the covered casserole for 50 minutes. After this initial baking time, remove the cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes. The casserole should be bubbly and starting to turn golden around the edges.

5-Adding the Final Touches: Remove the casserole from the oven and immediately top it with the shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs. Set your oven to low broil and return the dish for 5 to 10 minutes, watching carefully until the cheese is melted and the topping is golden brown. Keep a close eye on it during this stage to prevent burning. Serve immediately and enjoy the compliments that are sure to come your way!
