🧁 Enjoy a smooth and creamy frosting perfect for cakes and cupcakes that adds rich flavor with balanced sweetness.
🍰 Easy to make, this cream cheese frosting recipe is versatile and allows simple variations to suit your taste preferences.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: Enough frosting to cover a 9-inch cake or 24 cupcakes

Ingredients

– Β½ cup (1 stick or 113g) softened unsalted butter

– 8 oz (226g) softened cream cheese (brick-style, not spreadable)

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– ΒΌ teaspoon salt

– 4 cups (500g) powdered sugar

Instructions

1-First, make sure your cream cheese and butter are at room temperature this softens them up and helps them mix without lumps. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together for about 2-3 minutes until they’re light and fluffy, which is what gives the frosting its smooth base.

2-Gradually add the powdered sugar, about half a cup at a time, while mixing on low speed to keep things from getting messy with sugar dust.

3-Once the sugar is mixed in, add the vanilla extract and salt, then keep blending until everything is smooth and well combined.

4-If your frosting seems too thick, stir in a teaspoon of milk to loosen it up, or add more powdered sugar for a stiffer texture.

5-Finally, your frosting is ready to use right away, or you can pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up before spreading it on your cakes or cupcakes.
