Ingredients
4 large 12-inch flour tortillas
4 slices (about 140 grams) of provolone cheese (or alternatives like Swiss or mozzarella)
225 grams of deli-sliced roast beef (preferably thinly sliced from the deli counter)
3/4 cup of French fried onions
1 tablespoon of olive oil or another neutral oil
1 can (10.5 oz or approximately 300 ml) of beef consommé
3/4 cup (180 ml) of water
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
Instructions
1-Prepare the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 425ºF (220ºC), which takes just a minute and sets the stage for that golden-brown finish.
2-Lay tortillas and cheese: First, lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface and tear the provolone cheese into pieces for even distribution over each one. This helps the cheese melt uniformly and adds that gooey goodness we all love.
3-Add roast beef and onions: Next, spread the 225 grams of thinly sliced roast beef over the cheese, then sprinkle on the 3/4 cup of French fried onions for a nice crunch.
4-Roll and seal tortillas: Now, fold the sides of each tortilla inward and roll them tightly, brushing a bit of olive oil on the edge to seal everything in place.
5-Bake roll-ups: Place them seam side down on a baking sheet, brush the tops with the remaining olive oil, and pop them in the oven for about 10 minutes until they’re nicely browned.
6-Make dipping sauce: While they bake, mix the beef consommé, 3/4 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder in a saucepan and warm it over medium heat for the perfect dipping sauce.
7-Serve: Serve the roll-ups cut in half alongside that warm dipping sauce for the full experience it’s what makes this dish shine!
