Scale

3 tablespoons olive oil

½ finely chopped onion

2 minced garlic cloves

28 ounces plum tomatoes

½ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon dried oregano

¼ teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon salt

⅛ teaspoon black pepper

2 slices of bread processed into crumbs

½ cup milk

1 ½ pounds ground beef (lean with about 15% fat)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 lightly beaten egg

1 teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon dried oregano

8 ounces of small fresh mozzarella balls

Instructions

1-First Step: Prepare all your ingredients by chopping parsley and mincing garlic, shredding mozzarella, and measuring spices.

2-Second Step: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3-Third Step: Take a small amount of the meat mixture, flatten it in your hand, place a cube of mozzarella in the center, and carefully fold the meat around the cheese to form a ball.

4-Fourth Step: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5-Fifth Step: Bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked and cheese is melted inside.
