🥐 Buttery Shrimp-Stuffed Croissants combine the flakiness of croissants with a creamy, savory shrimp filling for a gourmet breakfast experience.
🦐 This recipe is quick and easy, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying an indulgent morning meal at home.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 4 large croissants

– 1/2 lb (about 225 grams) shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped

– 1 tablespoon butter

– 1 garlic clove, minced

– 2 tablespoons chives, finely chopped

– 1/4 cup (about 56 grams) cream cheese, softened

– 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

– 1/2 cup (about 56 grams) shredded mozzarella or Gruyère cheese

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 1 egg (optional) for egg wash

– Extra chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

1-Prepare the shrimp: Prepare the shrimp by peeling, deveining, and chopping it finely; set it aside for easy mixing later.

2-Cook the shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until it smells amazing, then add the chopped shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 2-3 minutes.

3-Make the filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, cooked shrimp, and chopped chives until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

4-Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for even baking.

5-Prepare croissants: Carefully slice each croissant lengthwise without cutting all the way through to create a pocket, then fill each one generously with the shrimp mixture.

6-Bake the croissants: Place the stuffed croissants on the prepared baking sheet; if you like, brush the tops with a beaten egg for a glossy finish, then bake for 8-10 minutes until they’re golden brown and the cheese has melted.

7-Serve: Finally, garnish with extra chives or parsley and serve warm to enjoy the best texture and flavor.

Notes

🦐 Remove shrimp from heat as soon as they turn pink to prevent overcooking; they will finish cooking in the oven.
🧀 Use softened cream cheese for a creamy filling texture.
🥐 Bake croissants until just golden to keep a crisp exterior and creamy interior.
🍋 Add lemon zest or fresh parsley for brightness before serving.
🌾 For a lighter option, use whole-grain croissants and substitute light cream cheese and low-fat mayo.
🔥 Reheat leftovers in an air fryer at 350°F for 3 minutes or oven at 325°F for 5-6 minutes to maintain flakiness; avoid microwaving.
