πŸ“ Create a stunning show-stopping dessert that layers fresh summer berries with creamy vanilla filling and crisp ladyfingers
πŸŽ‚ Perfect for summer gatherings and special occasions, this make-ahead dessert gets even better with time as flavors meld together

  • Total Time: 8 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

– 3/4 cup (8 oz) seedless raspberry jam

– 1 quart (1Β½ pounds) strawberries, sliced into ΒΌ-inch pieces

– 1 pint (12 oz) raspberries

– 1 pint (12 oz) blueberries

– 1Β½ cups cold heavy whipping cream

– 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

– 1ΒΎ cups confectioners’ sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 7 oz package of ladyfingers

– Fresh mint sprigs (optional) for garnish

– 2 cups mixed summer fruits (such as strawberries, blueberries, peaches) for added fresh fruits and vibrant color

– 1 cup Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt to enhance creaminess and protein

– 1/2 cup granola or gluten-free cereal for crunch and texture contrast

– 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup as a natural sweetener

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to deepen the overall taste

Instructions

1-Start by warming the raspberry jam until it’s liquid, then mix it with the berries to coat them evenly, letting the flavors blend for a few minutes.

2-Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, being careful not to overwhip to keep it light and fluffy.

3-In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract until it’s creamy and smooth.

4-Gently fold one-third of the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to lighten it, then fold in the rest until everything is fluffy.

5-Assemble the trifle in a clear glass dish: Layer the ladyfingers on the bottom, add a third of the berry mixture with its juices, and top with a third of the cream cheese mixture.

6-Repeat the layers, ending with the cream on top, and leave a one-inch border to show off the fruit beneath. Garnish with reserved whole berries and fresh mint if you like.

7-Chill the trifle for at least 8 hours or overnight to let the flavors meld perfectly.

Notes

πŸ“ Use a clear glass trifle dish to showcase the beautiful layers – presentation is key to this stunning dessert
⏰ Make this dessert the day before serving – the extended chilling time allows the ladyfingers to soften and flavors to intensify
πŸ₯„ Gently toss the berries in warm jam to soften them slightly and create a beautiful glaze that enhances their natural sweetness
