Ingredients

– 1 block (350g) extra-firm tofu, drained but not pressed

– 1 tablespoon of oil, such as canola or vegetable

– 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, gluten-free if preferred

– 2 teaspoons of chili powder

– 1 teaspoon of ground cumin

– 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

– 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon of salt

– 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, optional

– 3/4 to 1 1/4 cups of salsa

Instructions

1-First, crumble the 350g block of extra-firm tofu into small pieces and mix it with 1 tablespoon of oil, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and salt, plus 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper if you like it spicy.

2-Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet and bake at 350ยฐF (180ยฐC) for 30 to 35 minutes, making sure to stir it halfway through for the best texture.

3-Once baked, add 3/4 to 1 1/4 cups of salsa to the crumbles and cook until everything is heated through, which only takes a few minutes.

4-Warm your taco shells, tortillas, or prepare burritos, then load them up with the crumbles and your choice of toppings like peppers, tomatoes, vegan cheese, or lettuce.

5-Serve right away for the freshest taste, and enjoy experimenting with different ways to eat them, such as in burritos for a fun variation.
